FOX NEWS! Mitt Romney & Mike Huckabee Are Speaking!

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

I’ve had to change to MSNBC so I can listen to Mitt Romney give an excellent speech because you, FOX NEWS, are to busy keeping up your usual programming.  I love FOX, but you’re disappointing me tonight….and now here’s Mike Huckabee, and you’re skipping him, too!

There’s more to the Republican National Convention than Sarah Palin!!

Huckabee - How the Media has Messed Up

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

I know, I guess I’m supposed to be all charged up about Super Tuesday II, maybe I’ll get there when the results start coming in. I’m actually really tired of listening to the same old things on the media each day…but today while fixing lunch, I heard Mike Huckabee in the background sharing some thoughts about how the media has handled the election process. Finally, something different and interesting, at least to me. Here’s some of the things he shared, and they made a lot of sense…another reason why I’m glad he’s persisted in his run, we can still hear his insight…here’s what he shared when Greta Van Sustern questioned him on FOX News today:

  • When asked about the reason for Obama’s success, his response was, among other things, the fact that the media had given him “a great big wet kiss”, recalling the 45 to 50 minutes for an uninterrupted speech…he challenged the media to give all of the candidates that opportunity.
  • If your going to have an honest debate with candidates, give them equal time, he gave examples of how he would be given 6 minutes in a debate while others were given 23.
  • Give correct information, Huckabee gave the example of the media stating they were pulling out of Florida when they were not pulling out, and were there every single day…”that really hurt us there”.
  • Constant negative reports…so and so can’t win, mathematically impossible to win, which finally ingrains in peoples thought processes. Mike challenged the media with why not one network has the same delegate count as the other.
  • Also the negative influence of reporting that someone is out of the running before someone has reached the delegate count required. He compared it to, on the night of the presidential election, making the decision that we aren’t going to count any of the votes west of the Mississippi because of the trend we see in votes East of the Mississippi. “Would Americans accept that..of course they wouldn’t. So why are we calling the election before Ohio, Texas, Vermont, Rhode Island has all voted….hopefully with each election cycle we learn something and maybe do it a little differently the next time”.

I’m so glad Mike Huckabee hasn’t stepped down so we can hear common sense like this.
