Voted McCain/Palin, Praying for Obama/Biden

Biden Country

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

This past weekend we were in northern Delaware at an Embassy Suites right across the street from the University of Delaware because my husband had a job interview in the area.  We spent a day driving through this 2nd smallest State in the US, actually it takes a lot less than a day to drive the 90some miles from the northernmost part of DE to the bottom of the State.  There are political signs EVERYWHERE, loads of them, and not being from the area, none of the names were familiar.  What we did notice was there weren’t many Obama/Biden signs, we saw a few that just had “Biden” on them, and have to say we saw more McCain/Palin signs than we did the Obama/Biden.  We thought this interesting, but perhaps it doesn’t mean a thing. Maybe it’s just assumed that people in DE will vote for Obama/Biden since Biden is their Senetor.

Anyway, it’s good to be home, and have internet access again.  The hotel they put us up in had a CHARGE for access, we’ve never had that before in much less expensive hotels, and there was no way we were going to spend $10 a day just to spend time on the net.  Surfing and blogging would have to wait.

But we’re back, the never-ending campagn drones on, and we have one more debate this week.  Is anyone else besides me looking forward to the election being over and not having to watch campaign ads anymore?

Sometimes You Just Have to Laugh

The debate is over, I thought McCain did better this round, but don’t know whether he’s made much of a dent in the polls yet. I’m still stuck on the VP debate, and though I don’t watch Saturday Night Live, had heard about the routine they did on the Vice Presidential Debate, tracked it down online, and couldn’t resist posting it…except for a couple spots that crossed the line (at least my line) I thought this was hysterical…and so is Joe Biden’s reaction in the video that follows it, enjoy!

Tonight, It’s All About HILLARY!!

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

I just finished watching the video honoring Hillary preceding her speech, and wow, after the build up today, it really is all about her tonight. The video brought all the memories and feelings back of her campaign, I don’t know how those who voted for her, and still want her to be the Democratic Candidate can come away not being recharged. There’s Bill, in tears in the audience, and saying “I love you”, the applause is not stopping!

It’s a bit hard to read Michelle Obama, she stands to applaud each time the mention of uniting the party is given, but I haven’t seen a smile yet. Ah, there it is, she smiled at “Barack Obama is my candidate”. Now it’s back to “you and me”, focusing on herself. Oh my, is it ever about herself, all the “I will always remember…..” memories from her campaign. Then back to Barack. I guess you could say she’s flip-flopping back and forth between promoting Barack, and herself. Well I suppose she has a right, she did win many, many delegates, and even if I don’t agree with everything, she is a gifted speaker.

Well I’m going to take in the rest of the speech now, and we’ll see how tomorrow night goes…will the 100’s of Clinton supporters that are outside the Pepsi Center holding Hillary signs and saying vote McCain cause a little trouble during the delegate count? Stay tuned…this is getting fun! Oh, the hubby-into-politics I’m married to? He went to bed, has to get up early, and will listen to the details tomorrow on Rush Limbaugh.

One more thing, hubby had a few good laughs at the following video…lines from Hillary that just keep on giving if you’re a Republican:

Expected More Fanfare Over Biden VP Nomination

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

It’s Saturday evening, about 10:30 here on the East Coast, and I’m watching diving on the Olympics as I check the news and do a little blogging. I expected a lot more in the news on Biden being chosen as Obama’s VP, my hubby said that the infamous text message letting the “World” know that Obama had chosen Biden didn’t get out until about 3 am., quite a while after it hit the media, and those of us who were watching our alerts got it on our sites and blogs.

I did see an article in Washington Post that has a nice bio on Biden, and mentions Obama officially introducing him in Illinios yesterday, which should actually be today…but no matter, it’s a good article, and timing doesn’t seem to be everything if everyone knew about Obama’s choice before the magic text message was sent. But if you’re fussy about timing, read the article on Sunday, then the event WILL have been yesterday:-).

Enjoy the rest of the weekend, we have a lot to look forward to, the Democratic Convention, John McCain’s VP choice, the Republican Convention, Debates, things are finally getting interesting again.
